Make Your Voice Heard! Blog Competition Winners Announcement
IYC held a blog competition called Make Your Voice Heard! – partnering with Jakarta Globe and Terrant Books wit the theme Online all the time: Youth and the New Media. The impact of social networking and the online world on Indonesian culture.
Surprisingly, IYC received a lot of interesting and brilliant entries, though this competition only ran for approximately two weeks (from August 12 to 31, 2009). More or less, it proved that Indonesian youth have aspirations and can think critically, though they had to deliver their ideas in English. IYC Team selected 10 best entries to be submitted to Jakarta Globe editors–who were going to select the winners.
Finally, it has been decided that the winners of Make Your Voice Heard! Blog Competition are:
- Cassandra Niki Sucahyo (Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta)
Online all the time: Youth and The New Media. The impact of social networking and the online world on Indonesian culture - Garindra Putra Prahandono (De Anza College, California)
Social Networking on Youth - Disty Winata (Burnaby Central Secondary, Vancouver)
The Impacts of the Online World to Indonesian Culture
First winner’s article is going to be published in the Jakarta Globe. All of the winners are going to get complimentary subscription vouchers from Jakarta Globe and goodie bags from Terrant Books.
Congratulations for all the winners!
Thank you for everyone who has submitted their articles, and unintentionally proved that our voice must be given the privilege to be heard.
